IND Squad for Champions Trophy 2025 Team India Players:

This trophy is going to involve eight teams and those have been grouped in a group A consisting of four teams and group B with the other four teams. A group stage will be played with 12 matches then followed by the semi-finals and the final match. India and Pakistan are grouped into one and the match that involves these two nations will be played in Dubai on February 23.
Return of the tournament after 8 years
There are going to be eight teams that shall be competing in the Champions Trophy. Among these, teams from England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, and South Africa have declared their squads for the tournament. This is an annual event and this tournament was last held 8 years ago. In the previous edition held in 2017, the Pakistan cricket team outplayed the Indian cricket team in the final.

India had declined to send their team to Pakistan for this tournament and after that the ICC opted for the hybrid model. Eight teams will be competing in the Champions Trophy out of which four teams make up each group. The group stage will be in 12 matches and the final round of semi-finals and the final match will take place. India and Pakistan are placed in the same group and the two teams will play their match in Dubai on February 23. Indian cricket team will commence its cricket World Cup campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. It will next play the Pakistan team and afterwards New Zealand on March 2. The last of the champions trophy will be held on march 9th. On the other hand, Siraj, Samson and Reddy did not get place.

Siraj has been a part of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup Cup held last year, but he was not considered for champions trophy.
Shubman Gill will also be the vice-captain.
During the press conference when announcing the team, chief selector Ajit Agarkar stated that Shubman Gill has been appointed the vice-captain of the team during the ODI series and in the Champions Trophy against England. Shubman was also included in the ODI World Cup 2023 squad. The selectors have given most of the players who featured in the last ODI World Cup a chance for the upcoming Champions Trophy. In these, only three players are relatively newcomers to the Indian team, namely – Yashasvi Jaiwal, Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar.
Kuldeep Yadav Returns to the Squad
The wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has also made a comeback in the Indian team, who was unfit before the Australia tour. Kuldeep was unable to accompany his team on the Australia tour because of an injury; however, he will be able to participate in the champions trophy india squad. On the other hand, the star fast bowler was ruled out of the last match due to injury during the fifth Test against Australia, but he has also made the cut. Also, the Indian cricket team has excluded Bumrah from playing the first two one-day internationals against England. However, his participation in the third ODI is in doubt as per Agarkar who expressed his wish that Bumrah will be fit by the Champions Trophy.
Mohammed Shami and Yashasvi Jaiswal Included
Shami, who played well in the ODI World Cup, has been included in the ODI squad. Shami last played for India in the One-day International World Cup and now he is coming back to ICC event to play for India again. Similarly, young opened Jaiswal has also been given the responsibility in the ODI format and he is an opener of the team. Good, Baird: Yashasvi has been in great form in 2024.
